Mission
Elkgrovebmx.com exists for the purpose of bringing Bicycle Motocross (BMX) Racing to Elk Grove, California.

What is BMX
Since its beginnings in the early 70's, Bicycle Motocross (BMX) has been one of America’s fastest growing sports. It motivates, teaches self discipline and reinforces self esteem. People of all ages and abilities compete on BMX bikes on dirt courses with up to seven others sprinting for the finish while navigating over jumps and banked turns known as berms. BMX racing is very organized in the United States and abroad. In 2008 BMX racing will be part of the Summer Olympics in Beijing. There are more organized BMX races than any other type of extreme sport. In recent years BMX has come into its own as one of the premier emerging sports.

Goal
To work with local government to build a state of the art, covered, lighted BMX track that would permit year round practice and racing for children and adults. The ideal facility would have an automated starting gate, covered starter’s booth, sign-up shed, snack bar, storage shed, fencing, bleachers, rest rooms, play ground, water supply and parking.

Why should I register with elkgrovebmx.com?
The Elk Grove park planning staff plan to have public park planning meetings in the future. These meetings give the public a chance to let the parks people know what they want in their parks. We will use your registration information to notify you of these meetings. Registering with the site also allows you to post comments about stories posted on our site.
